FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
About the Burn Savvy Woodburning Retreat

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This retreat is for adult pyrographers (artists/crafters) on any skill level who are excited to spend some quality time exploring the art of pyrography with a small group of other pyros.

If you are ready to woodburn and  relax with pyros just like you in a deluxe cabin in the woods - then this Burn Savvy Retreat is for YOU.

All pyros are welcome - from beginners to experts alike.

Space is limited so make sure you get your spot early.

DO I HAVE TO HAVE A CERTAIN SKILL LEVEL?

No skill level required. You can be an ultimate beginner or a rockstar, world-renown pyrography artist and still be invited!

WHY GO ON A WOODBURNING RETREAT?

At the Burn Savvy Woodburning Retreat, you get to escape the hustle and bustle of life, and relax in the beautiful forests of northern Arizona with a handful of like-minded artists and crafters.

You get the chance to explore woodburning techniques, try new things, and discover tools and materials that you love.

Pyrography is so different from any other art form. You'll be burning with people who understand your struggles and your successes in this craft.

You also gain friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.

In this fast paced and isolated world, experiences like this are rare and worth the investment.

DO I NEED TO PROVIDE MY OWN FOOD?

Not at all! We will have catered options, dine-in options, as well as easy self-serve options to make sure you have meals that you enjoy.

DO I NEED TO FIND MY OWN LODGING?

Nope! You get 4 nights with all inclusive sleeping arrangements at a deluxe cabin in the woods.

WILL YOU BE TEACHING BUSINESS AND SOCIAL MEDIA CLASSES?

You get to vote on the classes you want most after you sign up. There may be a class or two on business if it gets the popular vote among the pyros.

However, this will be a side note.

This Burn Savvy woodburning retreat is art-and-craft focused - meaning we're giving you a rich, hands-on experience with pyrography projects and mediums that you don't typically get to experience.

DO I NEED TO PROVIDE MY OWN TRANSPORTATION?

Flights and transportation to and from the woodburning retreat are not provided. We recommend hiring a car - taxi, uber, lyft - and encourage you to share a ride with your fellow retreaters.

Once you are there, no need to get daily transportation - the magic is happening on site!

Just get yourself to the retreat and we will take care of the rest.

WILL YOU HAVE ANY LOCAL EXCURSIONS?

Possibly! If so, we will provide all tickets, transportation to and from the excursion, etc. for all retreaters who want to participate.

WHAT BRAND OF WOODBURNING PENS WILL BE AT THE RETREAT?

Colwood, Razertip, Optima, Burnmaster, Truart, Tekchic, Walnut Hollow, MM Newman, Dremel & possibly more.

There will also be branding irons, scorch markers, and other pyrography tools for you to try!

CAN I GET A DISCOUNT?

Yes! If you book between March 1-14, 2022, you can get the early bird special where every payment option is $100 less than if you wait until March 15 or later.

You also save $150 when you pay in full instead of using the payment plan.

DO YOU HAVE A PAYMENT PLAN?

Yes! We want you to be there, which is why we created this payment plan.

You can make 4 monthly payments until you are paid in full. Please see pricing above for details.

ARE TICKETS REFUNDABLE?

There is a $500 non-refundable deposit included in your ticket price.

The remaining ticket price is refundable within 14 days of your original purchase date (if using the payment plan, this is the date you made your first payment in March).

Any gifts you receive after signing up for the Burn Savvy Retreat do not need to be returned. Enjoy. :)

IF I AM NOT FROM THE USA, CAN I STILL COME?

Absolutely! Get yourself to the Burn Savvy Retreat and back home, and we will provide the food, lodging, pyrography techniques, training and woodburning goodies at the retreat.
